This relationship is lived out through the gifts and givers of our congregation. We seek to enrich our relationship individually and congregationally as we give our time, talent and treasures to Ascension St. Matthew’s Church. Collect and input data concerning pledged gifts and with this information work with the Governing Board and other MAT teams to provide support for needs. Assist the Volunteer Ministry Coordinator to design and distribute Ministry Interest Surveys (Time and Talent Sheets) to the congregations annually. Assist the Volunteer Ministry Coordinator in collecting and inputting data received from Ministry Interest Surveys and provide the collected data to each respective MAT. Provide hospitality in the form of meals for funerals, families of the deceased, sick peoples, etc. Provide sympathy, anniversary and birthday cards to members and friends of the congregation. Supervise and schedule regular maintenance of the Church buildings and grounds. Supervise the duties of the custodian, Provide all materials needed by the custodian. Provide snow removal when necessary. Schedule a Church cleanup day for members twice a year. Review insurance contracts and advise necessary changes to the Governing Board. Review all utility bills annually. Propose all appropriate budget items to the Governing Board each fall. Make or schedule building repairs as needed. Recruit members to help with building maintenance as needed. Meet with the Church treasurer(s) to formulate the annual Church Budget. Schedule an audit annually. Receive and review all treasurer’s reports quarterly and advise the Governing Board and the congregation periodically. Propose the purchase or replacement of property items needed or requested for the congregation’s ministry. Lots of New and Christmas items are on display. New ASM T-Shirts are available for sale in the Gift Shop1 It all begins with an idea. The gift shop is run by volunteers. Many talented people contribute their skills and talents. The shop started originally for ASM and their friends. We were open before and after services (10:30am on Sundays) and at other times by appointment. When we moved into our current home at 522 Homestead Blvd., Price, Utah, we opened the shop to the general public during Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper (the day before Ash Wednesday) and the Fall Fare in October. Currently, the Gift Shop is open by appointment only. Because the church office is not always open at times you may chose to visit, please call the office at 435-637-0106 to leave a message to set up an appointment for you to visit. We carry many items, of which some are one-of-a kind and not mass produced. The work is done at the church or in homes. It takes many hours to produce our hand embroidered, quilted, knitted and crocheted items, and everyday and special occasion hankies. Among the hand produced items are pillowcases, dish towels (30” by 36”), aprons, wall hangings, pictures, samplers and baby items. We carry Christmas décor, homemade animals (for children and adults), glass wall crosses (indoor and out), two glass cases of religious items such as crosses and prayer beads and car décor. Available are a limited selection of children’s books, mature coloring books, and color pencils. Seasonal items are offered, especially for Advent (Advent Wreath candles) and Christmas.
